Lives changed, relationships healed, hope restored
It’s time to let the joy out! As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), my goal is to help others embrace the path to healing. Unfortunately in our culture, therapy or counseling is often viewed as a dreaded and unpleasant event. Many people mistrust therapists or think that the goal of counseling is to identify what is “wrong” with them.
My approach is different. I do not view people in terms of pathology, or simply look for a diagnosis to explain their struggles. I believe that labeling people in this way frequently does them a disservice. I believe we are all wounded in some way or another. Most of us are doing our best to maneuver through our lives and relate to others, but we are often burdened by trauma or unresolved pain from our past. Very few of us have learned how to process or respond to this pain in a healthy manner. What most people need is to be heard and validated, and to have a plan of action for improving the difficult or painful aspects of their lives.
I see everyone as capable of making the transformation from wounded and suffering to whole and empowered. Your pain might actually be healing trying to happen. I can help turn your conflict into deeper connections with those around you. You can become the observer and master of your pain, rather than the victim of it. You can finally embrace the idea that it’s time to feel better.
